Maya Meredith
Board MemberMaya Meredith is a development professional focused on resource mobilization and change management. She is dedicated to strengthening organizations that are building toward economic opportunity, wellbeing, and dignity for communities of color. Most recently, she served as Deputy Director of Philanthropic Operations and Grants Management at the Movement for Black Lives, where she managed a $10M foundations portfolio and built the organization's first development operations systems. Previously, Maya oversaw foundation grants and government fundraising at Make the Road New York; led institutional giving at Edible Schoolyard NYC, where she also coordinated the organization’s school nutrition advocacy; and worked across multiple streams of fundraising at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
Based in Brooklyn, she is an avid cook, she loves to dig into cookbooks and food writing on cuisines from around the world and explore the cultural and political impacts of food. Maya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Women’s and Gender Studies from Columbia University, with magna cum laude honors.
